Volume 2 - Dreamscape // Feat. Sameer Chiplunkar
This week has been a week of massive progress. We began with recording ‘Notations of a Soul - volume 1 - Answers // Feat. Indraneel Hariharan’ and have ended up recording 1 track over a days time & are looking to wrap the other 2 tracks over the next few days.
Meanwhile, there has been another door that just opened. I decided to start work on Volume 2 - Dreamscape, immediately. This has stemmed from a simple thought - I am looking at extending Notations of a Soul into multiple 3 track albums as I collaborate with different musicians as I go along.
This is when I remembered Sameer Chiplunkar, Music Director and Keyboardist/Pianist. I remember meeting Sameer almost a year back. We started jamming when we met again recently and believe me, he is an absolute legend when it comes to playing the keyboard. Especially when he modulates it and makes it sound like an old organ. So, I decided to give him a call and check with him if he’d like to be a part of the experience. I gave him a gist of the process.
I come up with 3 Chordal Progressions (Rough tracks at the end of this post) in 24 hours and share it with Sameer.
Sameer and I talk about the structure of the track over the next couple of days and share notes on WhatsApp.
Plan a day to record over the next week.
Record the 3 tracks in a single session.
Produce and arrange the track over the next 3 days
Boom - Volume 2 - Ready!
That was it. We then met at Sameer’s house. Plugged in the guitar and recorded my sections. Post which Sameer began to lay down his organ solos and melodies.
And there, we had a structure in place.
Now….Sameer has gone into isolation as he starts to produce around our recorded instruments and work towards releasing the final version of Volume 2.

After recording all the sections last night, I feel super elated and excited to hear what the final album sounds like.
